6 days in the hospital and Mr. Yadav took his last breath surrounded by his family. Left behind in grief was Mrs. Yadav with their 4 married sons. The entire month went by in remembering the business tycoon. While the family had been setting an example of their unity to the world all their lives; the arguments and disputes over the property division post the demise became an everyday practice at the Yadav villa. With the division of property, Mrs. Yadav now was the new point of argument, for none of the kids had the intentions of accommodating their mother.
Property issues have always been the reasons for many family disputes. People don’t understand that these materialistic things don’t matter much than people.
Yes it happens many times in real world too where kids refuse to take care the responsibility of old parents and even after the death of one spouse, their main focus remain on gaining property rather than taking care of alone parent.
Beautifully written, Parul. Your words have shed light on the ugly reality of many families, where possessions are given more prominence than parents.
This is a sad reality and happens quite often. Death or grief is soon forgotten when it comes to division of property and siblings/relatives suddenly become feuding enemies.
This is the harsh reality of life. People give importance to materialistic things more than relationships. And deny taking responsibility for their parents
That is a very interesting writeup. This is also the story of the aged all around us. The world, is today full of materialism and everyone has their own vested interests.
unfortunately many kids dont take care of the kids, the primary focus is only to get the property . I feel extremely sad to see such folks.
This is the sad truth about life. After demise, all people want to talk about is property n division. Strength is in staying together over think n thin rather than creating a divide.
That’s the irony of our society that we still have such families not to go far but even seen this in very close members whom we can’t even imagine will turn out like this.
I feel so bad when kids want the money an property but they do not want to take responsibility of their parents. I think parents need to secure themselves before giving away the money to their kids. Sad but that’s the reality of life.
This is the reality of life. Parents are like burden for children. The storyline and narration is crisp and very beautiful written.
Isn’t this the most common scene in all such families, have heard many such familiar stories. Unfortunately, they don’t turn good for the elders.
